    François Deppe is a co-founder and permanent member of the Ictus Ensemble (Brussels). He studied conducting with Martyn Brabbins and Peter Eötvös. Invited conductor at the Antwerpen Philharmonie, he is assistant conductor at the Flanders Opera since 2009. He conducts at Opéra de Lille (France) and made his Paris debut in 2013 at the Opéra Comique. Invited by the Darmstäter Ferienkurse and the Ensemble Modern Academy, he is regularly conducting leading ensembles such as Nadar, Spectra, dissonArt, Nomad, and since 2017, the Hopper Ensemble. François Deppe gives classes in several major schools, including the Royal Conservatory in Liège, Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, Pôle Supérieur in Lille and Strasbourg. He has taken an important part in Daniel Barenboim’s project of creating a youth orchestra in the Palestinian Territories. His discography includes 15 CDs. He received the Prix de l’Académie Charles Cros and the Cæcilia Music Award.
