    Ian-Elfinn Rosiu began playing the cello at the age of five at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional in Aubervilliers-La Courneuve. After a detour to the University of the Sorbonne Nouvelle for a degree in cinema, he entered the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional in Poitiers, where he obtained his National Diploma of Professional Orientation by presenting his first short film, “Da Capo”, in the form of a film-concert with solo cello. He is now working on the musical composition of his second short film. He then obtained a Specialized Master in interpretation in the class of Marie Hallynck and Guy Danel at the Brussels Royal Conservatory and a Didactic Master in the class of David Cohen at the Mons Royal Conservatory.

    Between 2005 and 2012, he performed in the ensemble «Les Fragments de la Nuit» in several European festivals and recorded three albums. Moved towards transversality, he recorded many film scores conducted by Archie Shepp and Yiannis Plastiras, composed and recorded for the group Little Nemo and worked with circus performers, dancers, storytellers, actors, puppeteers… He is teaching within the Demos group and works as a permanent or session musician with several ensembles such as Hopper, l’Œil Kollectif, Erämaa, Laps, the Digressif Collective, the Hapax duo, the Ciak Trio, Pirahã…
